How to Make a Fluffy Dog Bed

If you have a faithful dog who showers you with unconditional love, you can reward your pet with your own display of affection. Construct a fluffy dog bed so that your pooch will be comfortable when he turns in for the night.

Things You'll Need:

• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Sturdy, but soft, fabric
• Sewing machine
• Polyester stuffing
• Pins
• Needle and thread

1. Measure a rectangle around your dog while she is lying on the floor with a tape measure. Add 1 inch to each side for the seam allowance.

2. Use your measurements to cut out two pieces of sturdy, but soft, fabric.

3. Sew the two rectangle pieces with the right sides together. Sew around three of the sides, leaving room for your seam allowance along the edges. Leave the last short end open to put the stuffing in.

4. Trim the seam allowance all the way around where you have sewn. Turn the bed right side out, making sure to poke out the corners.

5. Stuff the bed with the polyester stuffing. Fill the bed enough to be fluffy, but don't overfill or it will be too stiff.

6. Fold in the fabric on the last side and pin in place. Stitch straight across, making sure to back stitch at the beginning and the end. Fluff the bed up and put in on the floor for your dog to enjoy.

• Choose a soft, but heavy fabric that can stand up to some wear and tear from your dog, such as denim or corduroy.
