Make your toilet bowl shine with these natural recipes for eco-friendly toilet bowl cleaners.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Borax and Lemon Juice

  1. Step 1

    Pour 1 cup of Borax into a small bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Pour 1/2 cup of lemon juice over the Borax and gently stir with a spoon into a paste.

  3. Step 3

    Flush the toilet to wet the sides, then rub the paste onto the toilet with a sponge.

  4. Step 4

    Let it sit for 2 hours before scrubbing thoroughly. This is great for removing a stubborn stain, like a toilet bowl ring.

  5. Borax and Vinegar

  6. Step 1

    Flush the toilet to wet the sides of the bowl.

  7. Step 2

    Sprinkle a cup of Borax around the rim and sides of toilet.

  8. Step 3

    Spray 1/2 cup of vinegar over the Borax.

  9. Step 4

    Allow to sit for several hours or overnight.

  10. Step 5

    Scrub thoroughly with a toilet brush until the bowl gleams.

Tips & Warnings
  • For less stubborn toilet bowl rings, sprinkle baking soda around the rim and scrub with a toilet brush. Also, denture tablets work great as a toilet cleaner substitute. Just drop a couple in the water and scrub as you normally would.
