Blame it on the DIY movement, because even in a housing slump, remodeling is still alive and kicking-particularly kitchens and bathrooms-the latter even more so, now that it's gone from the least glamorous to the most serene spa-like space in the house. So, how can you host a "ta-da" party celebrating the bathroom makeover you're so proud of? Exploit the humor and unique theme your accomplishment offers. Here's how.

Instructions

1. Send invitations sporting a photo of a really scary-looking guy along with some creative text like: "This is the guy who laid the tile in our new bathroom; he's actually got a knack for mosaic work. In celebration of our newly remodeled home, please stop by our place on ______ (date) at _______ (time) for cocktails and small talk (bathroom humor is optional). RSVP by ______ (date) to ________ (RSVP contact info).

2. The party does not take place in the bathroom; it's really just a hilarious theme and excuse to get your pals together. You just need a few decorative touches to set the high-spirited mood.
