How to Draw Simple Anime Eyes

This is a very basic anime eye that anyone can learn. When colored and/or shaded properly, everyone will wonder how you created these beautiful and realistic anime eyes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Ruler
• Circle stencils
• Drawing pencil
• Tissue
• Small tortillions
• Drawing paper
• Good colored pencils

Drawing a Simple Anime Eye

1. 

   Draw two sideways parentheses to indicate the upper and lower lids.

2. 

   Add two colored-in triangles for eyelashes on the upper lid and another colored-in triangle on the lower lid. Draw a large oval in your eye wherever you deem necessary. It doesn't have to be off to the side as indicated in the picture. Add a line above the upper lid to represent the lid fold.

3. 

   Draw another oval inside the oval you already drew to show where your pupil is. Add two smaller circles so that light sourcing is shown. Draw a large thick line for an eyebrow.

4. 

   Color everything in. Pupils are black and the irises can be any color you choose. Skin and eyebrow color can be whatever shades you want.

5. You can draw even simpler anime eyes by following step 1 and then simply drawing a black oval in between the two parentheses.

Tips & Warnings

• To draw a male anime eye, make the eye more narrow and the eyebrow thicker
• Male eyes do not have eyelashes.
• If you want the colors to pop up, ink the drawing first, erase the pencil lines, then color.
• Digital coloring works great for anime because you can add effects to the eyes, such as rain, lightning, and scenery.
• Since eyes have soul, show the character's depth and emotion through the eyes.
• Always shade the whites of the eyes, otherwise your eyes look dead.
