Things You'll Need:
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Paper
- Drill
- Electric screwdriver
- Bolts
- Shades
- Level
-
Step 1
Use your tape measure to measure the distance between the holes on the back of your window shades. Though the shades may be a specific size, the distance between the holes is often much smaller. Write down the measurements in an easy to reach location.
-
Step 2
Mark the measurements on the wall so you can see exactly where the holes need to be drilled. You can do this with a pencil, or go ahead and drill a small hole in the wall so you can see where to drill deeper later.
-
Step 3
Drill a small hole in the wall where your screws will need to go. Screw the bolts into the wall where you marked your holes. These bolts come with your motorized window shades.
-
Step 4
Hang your window shades in place on top of the bolts according to the directions that came with your shades. You should double check the shades once they’re hung with a level to make sure they’re even.
-
Step 5
Install the batteries in the remote control and your motorized window shades will be ready to work. As long as you hung the shade evenly, they will last for years to come.
