Bruschetta is an elegant and fuss-free appetizer that can compliment any pasta dinner. It can also double as a side dish. Read on to learn how to make Bruschetta appetizers. For this recipe, serve with a small, shallow bowl of olive oil sprinkled with capers, for dipping.

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 6 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 2 TBSP minced fresh garlic
  • 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced into 12 1" pieces

    How to Make Bruschetta Appetizer

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice French bread.

  2. Step 2

    Chop tomatoes and basil.

  3. Step 3

    In small bowl, combine olive oil, tomatoes, basil, garlic, salt and pepper. Let stand for 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Toast bread slices and place on baking sheet. Bake for ten minutes or until browned on both sides. Turn once.

  5. Step 5

    Remove from oven and spoon tomato mixture over the bread. Serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use stoneware for baking the bread in the oven.
  • Watch bread carefully so it doesn't burn.
