How to Make a Desk Magazine Holder

Finished Magazine Holder

This desk magazine holder is easy to make and can add a little personal flair to your office or workspace. It can also be used to organize papers, folders and catalogs. Make several to clean up your entire workspace!

Instructions

Things You'll Need

• A large cereal box
• Wallpaper remnants or paper
• Glue
• Staples and stapler
• A rubber band
• Scissors
• Black marker

1. 

   Cut the flaps off of the box.

2. 

   Draw a line diagonally from the top corner of the box to four inches above the opposite bottom corer, as shown in the picture. Do this on both sides of the box and connect the lines around the side of the box. For a better idea of how this will look, see Step 4.

3. 

   Cut the box on the lines you just drew.

4. 

   The box should look like the picture when you are done.

5. Glue the paper or wallpaper to the outside of the box. Fold the paper around the edges of the box and glue them down for a more finished look.

6. Use staples to hold the edges of the paper down while the glue dries. I put a rubber band around the bottom to hold the paper on, too.

7. 

   Once the glue is dry, you are ready to add magazines.

Tips & Warnings

• The easiest way to attach paper is to select a piece that is a few inches larger than the box. This way you have extra to fold around the edges.
