These days when everyone is on a tight budget because of such a hard economic times all around the world it is good to know that you can do simple things around the house to decorate to make it look homey. Try these tips and tricks to put some sparkle and whimsy into your home that doesn't cost an arm and leg to buy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Miniture hammock
  • Non-working fireplace
  • Chrystal water pitcher
  • Gourds
  • Garlic braids

Step1
Is your children's room too small for all of his/hers stuffed toys? Add a miniature hammock to a corner in a child's room to make a bed for all of those stuffed animals to save space for them to sleep.
Step2
When you are on a scavenger hunt to look for items that you can use keep your eyes peeled for a non-working fireplace. Once primed and freshened with paint the fireplace makes a cozy niche for an aquarium, flower or
plant arrangement.
Step3
Do you need an instant centerpiece? Try using a branch that is cut from any blossoming tree or bush this will make an unusual center piece on a dining or coffee table. Greenery of any kind can be used, just add something appropriate for the season that you are celebrating.
Step4
Did you know that just about anything that holds water can be used as a vase? Try displaying flowers in a crystal ice bucket,
fluted champagne glasses, mugs, cocktail pitchers you will be amazed how it brightens up a room.
Step5
I love this trick to put my house in the mood for fall. Buy gourds in the fall at the supermarket. Use them for a month
or so in an arrangement, then put them someplace warm and dry for awhile. The gourds become very light as they dry, and the
colors mute beautifully when they age.
Step6
Try these tips for your kitchen by making garlic braids or dry hot pepper braid just thread them on a long string and secure and you have instant kitchen decor that will "cook" when anyone notices it.

Tips & Warnings

  • So don't throw away anything that you bring into your house with thinking about different ways in using them to their full potential.
