Spinach is a dish you typically have to force kids to eat, but this new recipe is guaranteed to please even the pickiest of eaters! With a touch of lemon and garlic, your kids will devour this dish. Recipe serves 4.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups Spinach, fresh or frozen
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup water
  1. Step 1

    Rinse spinach in a colander and allow to drain.

  2. Step 2

    Peel and slice garlic.

  3. Step 3

    Heat butter over medium heat in a saucepan.

  4. Step 4

    Add garlic to saucepan and cook about 7 minutes, or until garlic is tender.

  5. Step 5

    Add spinach and water, and cover for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to allow all flavors to mix.

  6. Step 6

    Reduce heat to low and squeeze half a lemon into the saucepan. Stir and cover for additional 5 minutes.

  7. Step 7

    Remove from heat and serve. Squeeze the lemon juice on the spinach once you have plated it. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Carmelized onions or garlic add a sweet and savory flavor to this dish.
  • Cut lemon in half and squeeze with the open side of the lemon in the palm of your hand. This will prevent lemon seeds from falling into the spinach.
  • Stir occasionally to avoid burning spinach.
