1
Determine which wall in your home you want to hang your picture frame or your collage of frames.
-
2
Trace around your picture frame on a piece of paper. If you have a very large piece of artwork or an over-sized frame, use a sheet of newspaper or kraft paper.

-
3
Trim the paper to size with scissors. Once you have the paper the same size as your picture frame lay the frame face down and place the paper on the back of the frame. Feel through the paper and find the hanger or the center point of the picture wire mounted on the frame. Then take a nail and poke a hole through the paper at that point.
-
4
Tape the paper or papers to the wall, hole sides up. Stand back and see where you would like your frame to hang. Reposition the paper as many times as it takes until you like the position of the paper.
-
5
Check the papers for level with a spirit level. When you are comfortable with the position of the paper take the nail and place it in the hole on the paper and hammer it into the wall. Remove the paper from the wall and hang your frame.

Tips & Warnings
For a collage of frames, lay your frames out on a large, open area of your floor and arrange them until they look aesthetically pleasing to you. Then place your corresponding papers on the wall and use the frames on the floor as your cheat sheet. Write a one or two word description for the corresponding photo that you made the paper for so you will know which photos look good where.
White printer paper is best to use as it is easier to see through the paper to the hook on the back of frames.
