Instructions

    • 1

Fold a large piece of heavy weight construction paper into a 3D rectangle. Measure and cut different paper sizes and repeat until you have a 3D rectangle that is slightly larger than the child's hand. Instead of cutting, you can also double or triple fold the paper before folding the 3D rectangle shape to make the paper toy's sides sturdier.

    • 2

Cut four craft sticks slightly shorter than one half of the 3D rectangle's length.

    • 3

Unfold the paper as you would open a book with the 3D rectangle's long sides vertical to your front. Tape two craft stick along the inner and outer edges of the right inside top half of your 3D rectangle. Repeat on the bottom right.

    • 4

Turn the paper over by flipping it to the right--the 3D rectangle should now look like the outside cover of a book. Draw a cell phone screen on the top right half and a cell phone keypad on the bottom right half. If you have a printer, copy and download a cell phone image off of the Internet to tape on this side.

    • 5

Refold your 3D rectangle, with the craft sticks on the inside and your cell phone drawing or image on the outside, and tape the edges together. Bend the entire rectangle in half with the cell phone screen image facing inward. You now have a toy paper cell phone.
