Things You'll Need:
- Sock or knitted material with a hole worn in it.
- Blunt tipped (darning) needle
- Thread or yarn of approximately the same size as the material
- Scissors

Step 1
Carefully trim yarn or threads that have broken without cutting through any that are still a part of the fabric, no matter how worn.

Step 2
Thread the needle but don't put a knot in the thread.

Step 3
Start four or five threads or ribs away from the hole and weave toward it and weave completely around the hole.

Step 4
Weave completely around the hole.

Step 5
Pick up a loop or woven stitch from one edge, then weave over and under any strands and straight across to the other side of the hole.

Step 6
Weave over and under any strands and straight across to the other side of the hole.

Step 7
Pick up a woven stitch and weave back to the other side and completely cover the hole in this manner, weaving over and under any threads.

Step 8
Completely cover hole in this manner, weaving over and under any threads.

Step 9
Weave the sane way in the other direction, going over and under the threads you added, until the hole is covered.

Step 10
Finish by weaving away over four or five threads and snip thread close to material.

Step 11
Snip thread close to material, but don't tie off.
