How to Make Mummy Cupcakes
Halloween is becoming more popular year after year. Loads of folks host Halloween parties and create all sorts of ghoulish treats. Make a standout dessert and serve mummy cupcakes for a party or to send off to school.

- Muffin pan
- Cupcake liners
- Cake mix
- Butter cream frosting
- Piping bag and tips
- Black food coloring

Line a muffin tin with Halloween cupcake liners. Mix up and bake a batch of cupcakes according to instructions on the box. Any flavor will do. Let the cupcakes cool completely.

Make homemade chocolate butter cream frosting or use the store bought kind. Add in enough black food coloring to darken the color of the frosting. Use this for the background color of the cupcake.

Frost cupcakes with the black frosting. Smooth the frosting with the flat side of the knife. Reserve about 3 tbsp. of the frosting to use later.

Prepare white butter cream frosting or pre-made white frosting. This will be used for the mummy wrapping.

Put a basket weave tip on a piping bag. Fill the bag with the white frosting. Pipe strands of frosting onto the cupcake in varying directions to look like bandages. Be sure to leave a strip open in the middle in which to place the eyes.

Place 2 chocolate-coated candy pieces in the center for the eyes. Pipe the remaining black frosting onto the center of each eye using a small round tip.

Practice piping the frosting on wax paper before trying to frost the cupcakes if you're not experienced in frosting techniques.
