Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Wedding invitation
- Pillar candle, at least 3 inches taller than the invitation
- Waxed paper
- Straight pin
- ½ box of paraffin
- Glass pie plate
- Hot pads
- Tweezers
- Flowers
- Scissors
- Low temp glue gun and glue sticks
- Decorations like narrow ribbon, pearls or pearl loops
Step1
Lay the candle on its side. Crumble up sections of waxed paper and put under the sides of the candle so it doesn’t roll.
Step2
Position the invitation on the candle until it is where you want it. Mark the outer edge with pin pricks. If the invitation is a folded card, cut the card in half. Position each part of the invitation to opposite sides of the candle and mark with pin pricks.
Step3
Put the paraffin in the glass pie plate. Melt in the microwave one minute at a time until it is melted. Use hot pads to remove from microwave.
Step4
Place invitation in the melted paraffin. Cover it with the melted paraffin and remove with tweezers. Be careful, the paraffin will be hot.
Step5
Place the invitation between the pin pricks. Press it down on the edges until it starts to seal against the candle. Let the paraffin set firmly.
Step6
Decorate the edges of the invitation and candle with flowers, ribbons and pearls, using the low temp glue gun.
