How to Recycle Leftover Christmas Wrapping Paper

You can never gauge how much paper to buy for wrapping all those Christmas presents. And, you inevitably end up with tons of leftover paper. Have you ever wondered what to do with your left over Christmas paper?

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Cardstock
  • Ribbon
  • String
  • Hole punch
  • Christmas wrapping paper
  • Pencil
  • Exacto knife
  • Glitter glue

    How to Make a Christmas Gift Tag

  1. Step 1

    Cut a piece of cardstock that measures 41/2”L X 21/2”W.

  2. Step 2

    Fold down the top edge of the gift tag about a 1/2” and glue it.

  3. Step 3

    Position the hole punch in the center of the folded section and punch out a hole.

  4. Step 4

    Cut 2 Pieces of wrapping paper measuring 31/2”L X 21/2”W.

  5. Step 5

    Glue them onto the front and back of the gift tag.

  6. Step 6

    Thread a piece of ribbon or string through the hole.

  7. Step 7

    Tie a knot at the end or make a bow.

  8. Step 8

    Write name on tag and tape to gift.

  9. How to Turn Christmas Wrapping Paper Into a Christmas Card

  10. Step 1

    To make a Christmas card, choose the color of cardstock you want as well as a design from the wrapping paper.

  11. Step 2

    Fold the cardstock horizontally.

  12. Step 3

    Draw an oval shape onto the cardstock.

  13. Step 4

    Use Xacto knife to carefully cut out oval.

  14. Step 5

    Cut the design larger than the oval.

  15. Step 6

    Run glue stick around the right side edges of your wrapping paper.

  16. Step 7

    Open your folded cardstock and place the wrapping paper so that the design can be seen in the oval opening.

  17. Step 8

    Carefully smooth down.

  18. Step 9

    Cut off excess cardstock and lay aside.

  19. Step 10

    Outline the oval with glitter glue, ribbon, or another type of wrapping paper.

  20. Step 11

    Cut another piece of cardstock to cover the wrapping paper inside the card.

  21. Step 12

    Write your greeting.

Tips & Warnings
  • The best kind of wrapping paper for this project is one that has several different pictures on it.
