Your bathroom is second only to the kitchen (or maybe it’s a wash) in terms of importance for proper energy management in your home. How clean and orderly you keep your bathroom can affect every aspect of your professional, social and personal lives. With a little effort, you can yield vast returns in terms of your success, confidence, productivity and enjoyment of life. Never underestimate the influence of feng shui in your life in ways you might never imagine.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, make sure your bathroom is spotless and odorless, cleaning every surface, flat or round throughout. Don’t forget behind the toilet, under the spigot, on the top of rack hardware, or around and on top of any light fixtures.

  2. Step 2

Make any needed repairs to tile, flooring, walls or cabinetry immediately and professionally. If you do it yourself, take the time to prepare and complete the task with precision and consciousness.

  3. Step 3

Repair any leaky faucets immediately. Keep the toilet in excellent repair. Replace the seat regularly every few years. Replace burned out lights right away.

  4. Step 4

Keep the toilet seat cover closed except when using. It's not enough for gentlemen to lower the seat. Everyone should lower the cover after every use. The energy that rises out of the toilet, even when spotlessly clean, is relatively negative.

  5. Step 5

If you clean often enough, you won’t need harsh chemicals. Use organic, biodegradable cleaners that are not toxic or harmful to your skin or lungs--or to the environment.

  6. Step 6

Clean windows inside and out, including the sills, blinds or curtains. Clean mirrors completely and often.

  7. Step 7

Clean with serenity, focus and precision. Establish a cleaning schedule or routine so that the bathroom never gets dirty enough to need cleaning.

  8. Step 8

Remove everything from the bathroom that doesn’t absolutely have to be there, including inside the drawers and cabinets as well as on shelves, countertops and vanities.

  9. Step 9

When you open a drawer, if you have to move anything around to find something, it’s too cluttered.

  10. Step 10

If you open a cabinet drawer and can’t tell what’s inside because there is too much stuff, get rid of some or all of it and reorganize.

  11. Step 11

Artwork is not needed in a bathroom, but if you have it in there, keep it simple, small and minimal. Don’t just leave the same lame framed print in there for years. Regardless, take what’s in there down often and clean it carefully so there is no dust or residue anywhere.

  12. Step 12

Use towels as artwork. There will be some towels hanging, so make sure they’re neat, clean, changed out often, and attractively arranged. Don’t let your bathroom become a laundry room with both clean and dirty clothes hanging in it.

  13. Step 13

Open windows whenever possible to bring fresh air in and let stale air out.

  14. Step 14

Check sink, shower and tub drains often. Fill them with hot water then pull the plug to flush them out. It’s best to check and flush them often rather than using any chemicals to clear drain pipes.

  15. Step 15

If you have any kind of rug or throw rug in the bathroom, make sure it is one that can be cleaned easily, and clean it often.

  16. Step 16

Cleanse often using a smudge stick or seven-metal bell, executed in a serene, meditative and deliberate state of mind.

  17. Step 17

Keep extra bathroom tissue where it’s easy to locate, and have facial tissue near the sink. Also, make sure there are always enough clean hand and face towels for however many guests you may have visiting at any time, and arrange towels so it is obvious how to select clean ones, i.e., don’t just have one hanging by itself for everyone to use (or not use).
