Things You'll Need:
- Zucchini
- Vegetable brush
- Knife
- Vegetable shredder

Step 1
Use ripe zucchini to make zucchini bread. Choose zucchini that are no more than 6 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. Additionally, look for zucchini whose skin is shiny and free of bruises, blemishes and cuts. The stem should be about 1 inch long, slightly prickly and moist to the touch.

Step 2
Wash the zucchini under cold water and scrub them vigorously with a vegetable brush to remove dirt and bacteria. Remove each end of the zucchini using a sharp knife.

Step 3
Shred the zucchini using a hand-crank shredder, electric vegetable shredder or food processor. The method you choose is largely dependent on personal preference. Although you can shred zucchini using a sharp kitchen knife, it is a slow process.
