Instructions

    • 1

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit to make cornflakes. Oil lightly and dust two baking sheets with a thin layer of corn meal.

    • 2

Combine 1/2 cup ground cornmeal, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vegetable oil in a food processor. Blend until well combined.

    • 3

Add 1/4 cup water and 1-1/2 tbsp. honey to the water. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved.

    • 4

Pour the water and honey mixture into the food processor as it is running.

    • 5

Add 1 tsp. water at a time until the mixture forms a moist dough.

    • 6

Place the ball of dough on a clean, floured surface and divide into two.

    • 7

Roll each ball of dough out to at least 1/8-inch thickness or thinner if using a rolling pin. Place each rolled out dough onto the prepared baking sheets.

    • 8

Bake the dough in the oven for about 30 minutes until lightly browned and crisp.

    • 9

Allow the pans to cool completely before breaking it up into small pieces or flakes. Place the flakes in a plastic, air-tight container and enjoy as you would commercial corn flakes.

Tips & Warnings

  • The thinner you can roll out the dough the better, as it will most resemble the texture of commercial corn flakes.
