Step 1
Let me start off by saying, I used to have the holiday blues. Christmas would depress me because I'd have to spend money on gifts, or I'd have to go to parties I didn't want to go to. I really didn't understand the true meaning of Christmas, and I'm sad to say this happens to a lot of people.
-
Step 2
Christmas is about giving. It's not about you spending $300 on a gift. It's more the thought that counts. For the longest time I didn't know that and would get upset because I didn't have enough money. Now I do have enough money, but I know that's not what Christmas is about. You could make a gift, and as long as you put your love into it, that's all that matters.
-
Step 3
Christmas would also depress me because I was afraid of people and didn't want to go to Christmas parties. I didn't realize that Christmas is about spending time with friends and family, and just sharing your love of the season with them. Now I realize that's what it is, so whenever I'm invited to a party I remind myself about that. I say they are my friends, and they want me to be there because I matter to them. They aren't inviting me to make me uncomfortable or insecure, and show me how great they are...they want me to share their special holidays with them. I think if you keep this in mind, it'll make it easier for you to go to the parties.
Of course if you are invited to parties where you barely no anyone, decline. You don't have to go to everything you are invited to. -
Step 4
Lastly, I hate snow. So being around Christmas used to really depress me. The days would be short, and night would be long and cold. Now I realize that winter is needed to clean the world. If we didn't have winter, we would have more bugs, and a lot more disease. Now I think of winter as a step in the rebirth cycle. Also when it goes snow, I feel more festive, as what is Christmas without snow.
-
Step 5
Just remember to try and stay positive, and only hang around with people you love and care about, and who love and care about you. This'll make it a lot easier to fight the holiday blues, because really the holidays is a joyous occasion. And if you have no where to go, it's time to speak up and ask a friend if you can tag a long with them for Christmas, or throw your own get-together, go out for dinner, etc. Life is what you make of it, so get going.

Holiday feel most solitude, it can be depressing to stay alone, it's very nice to celebrates the family.
But if you do not have a family, do not be disappointed and not remain alone, find your friends that I visit for the holidays, or to invite you to your friends.
Good luck! Happy holidays!
And hurry to make a family!
God bless you!
