Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp, baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • Cookie sheet
  • Mixer (or you can mix by hand)
  • Mixing bowls
Step1
Turn oven on to 350 degrees.
Step2
Beat first six ingredients until fluffy.
Step3
In separate bowl, sift the next four ingredients.
Step4
Combine dry, sifted ingredients to fluffy wet mixture and beat on low (or by hand) until smooth.
Step5
Cover and chill for two hours or over night.
Step6
Once chilled, roll the dough into 1-inch balls and roll through sugar until completely covered.
Step7
Place the balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
Step8
Place cookies on wire rack and immediately top each one with a chocolate kiss. Cool. Makes six dozen.

Tips & Warnings

  • If possible, mix ingredients by hand.
  • When placing kisses atop warm cookies, be sure not to press to hard or too soft.
  • Know that 350 degrees F is about 176 degrees C.
  • Watch cookies through window to make sure you don't overcook, but avoid opening oven door.
