Looking for a unique wedding favor that will get guests talking? Creating a candy buffet is an easy and fun way for your guests to take a sweet treat home with them.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 to 10 glass cylinder vases in different sizes
  • 8 to 10 types of candy
  • Several metal candy scoops
  • Colored ribbon
  • One cellophane bag for each wedding guest
  • Colored printer paper
  1. Step 1

Purchase glass vases at a local crafts store. Keep in mind that guests will need to reach into the vase to pull out candy. Choose vases with wide enough mouths to allow for easy access.

  2. Step 2

Purchase candy at local bulk candy shop. Pick candy in your wedding colors. It’s best to bring your vases to the candy shop, so you are sure to buy the right amount.

  3. Step 3

Buy metal candy scoops. Kitchen supply stores should have these. You don’t need one for each vase. Guests can use their hands to grab individually wrapped candy. Use scoops for unwrapped items.

  4. Step 4

Buy small cellophane candy bags. Paper supply stores will offer a variety of sizes. Make sure there is one for each guest.

  5. Step 5

Write a thank you note. Keep it simple and short, but be sure guests know how special it was that they were a part of your big day.

  6. Step 6

Type the thank-you note on a computer and print it out on coordinating paper. You should be able to fit 4 to 8 on each page, depending on the length of your note.

  7. Step 7

Cut out the thank-you notes and slip one into each candy bag.

  8. Step 8

Using matching ribbon, decorate each vase by wrapping a piece of ribbon around the glass near the mouth of the vase. Use double-stick tape to secure.

  9. Step 9

Select a matching table cloth to set your wedding candy buffet table on.

  10. Step 10

Place filled glass vases on the table. Put scoops inside vases containing unwrapped candy.

  11. Step 11

Stack cellophane candy bags near the vases so that wedding guests can fill them up.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put the bride and groom’s favorite candy in the buffet with a label so guests know its significance.
  • For a special touch, get M&M’s in your colors personalized with the wedding date.
  • Choose a wide variety of candy so everyone finds a treat they love.
