Green bean casserole is an easy vegetable dish that can be served with almost any entree. It can be prepared ahead of time, refrigerated and then popped into the oven as you are getting ready to eat. Things You'll Need

  • 1 large bag frozen green beans (whole or cut)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 large can fried onions
  • 3-quart casserole dish

      Combine the green beans and cream of mushroom soup in a 3-quart casserole dish.

      Mix in half of the fried onions and cover the dish. Refrigerate the casserole if you are making it ahead.

      Put the covered casserole dish in a 400 F oven about 40 minutes before you plan to eat.

      Wait 30 minutes and then remove the cover. Sprinkle the rest of the fried onions on top of the casserole and return to the oven for 10 more minutes.

  • This side dish will serve about 8 people. You can double the recipe for more people by doubling all the ingredients, using a deep 4 qt. casserole dish, and increasing the cooking time by 10 minutes.
