Peanut Butter Lovers Day, celebrated on March 1, is only for the truly determined and truly allergy free peanut lovers. Whether you prefer hydrogenized peanut butter or the all natural kind, the day is for both of you. Celebrate today, but be careful who you invite over because there are some out there who absolutely hate peanut butter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make peanut butter balls. Mix together 1 jar creamy peanut butter, 2 sticks melted butter, 1 box powdered sugar and 2 cups rice crispy cereal. Make into small balls and freeze. Remove when frozen and dip in one 12 ounce bag of melted chocolate chips. Enjoy.

  2. Step 2

Make your own peanut butter. Don't expect it to taste as yummy as the peanut butter at the store, but it can come close. Combine 1 teaspoon of oil, 1 cup of peanuts and a pinch of salt in a food processor. Mix for two to three minutes. Stir one last time and eat.

  3. Step 3

Research the history of peanuts and find famous peanut enthusiasts. Peanuts probably came from Peru or Brazil and Dr. John Harvey Kellogg made peanut butter in 1895. George Washington Carver is considered the father of the peanut and its thousand uses.

  4. Step 4

Visit a peanut festival or farm. Half of all the peanuts grown in the US are grown in Georgia. Chances are good to find one of these fascinating farms if you live near Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia or the Carolinas. Check out the Peanut Festival in Emporia held annually in September. Try the National Peanut Festival in Dothan Alabama near November.
