Bring some tinfoil along on your next camping trip for some great new meals to try. Cooking with tinfoil on a campfire is versatile, less messy and allows you to use foods you may not be able to cook in a pot or a grill. For those who have a hard time cooking food evenly or burning food on a campfire, tinfoil is a great and easy way to help you out. Read on to learn how to cook with tinfoil on a campfire.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Try an all in one meal, also called a dutch oven. Place about a 12-inch piece of tinfoil down and fill with whatever meat and vegetables you like along with some butter, onion, garlic or onion soup mix for good flavor.
Step2
Cover with more foil and wrap into a package. Place directly on the fire. Flip every 10 minutes and continue to check every 20 minutes to see if it's done.
Step3
Mix a pizza crust according to the store bought package. Use ½ cup of spaghetti sauce and any other toppings you want. Place on grill and cover with a large piece of tinfoil. Cook longer for a thick crust.
Step4
Make dessert by forming foil thickly over a stick. Form tube, crescent roll dough on top of the foil and rotate over hot coals. When brown, fill with snack size vanilla pudding and spread with chocolate frosting.

Tips & Warnings

  • To cook something slowly just place on hot coals instead of directly over a flame.
  • Make sure to use tongs or heavy duty mitts when turning the foil to avoid burns.
