Instructions

Order your roses in bulk at least 2 weeks before the wedding, plan for them to arrive 2-3 days before the wedding. Keep them stored in a cool place and keep them moist. I got married in January, so I was able to keep them in the garage and it was the perfect temperature, cool but not freezing. The night before your wedding, prepare the roses by cutting 2 inches off the bottom of the stems using sharp garden clippers. If the roses have thorns, use the garden clippers to cut them all off.

Before putting the bouquet together, remove any damaged or loose petals, being careful not to touch the good petals too much or you could cause more wilting.

    • 3

Start with at about 5 roses and wrap the floral wire around the stems below the flower heads to secure together. Then wrap again with floral tape. Continue to add more ,arranging them into a dome shape. Add as many roses as you need to get the size of dome you desire. Wrap wire tightly around stems, below the rose heads, so they are held firmly together. Cover wire with green floral tape.

Arrange greenery evenly around your bouquet. You do not want the greens sticking up too high and distracting from your roses. Place around the base of the roses and secure them in place with wire. It helps to have one person hold the bouquet with everything in place and have a second person wrap the wire tightly around several times so nothing falls out of place.

Trim the bottom of the bouquet so all stems are even.

    • 6

Cover the handle with Ribbon. Start at the top of the stems, at the base of the roses. Secure the end of the ribbon with a thick, sturdy pin. I found some strong pins that had pearls on one end which added a nice touch. After pinning the ribbon in place, carefully wrap the ribbon around the handle, in a downward diagonal, making sure the ribbon overlaps as you work your way down so the stems are fully covered. The ribbon can cover all of the stems or just a portion. It's up to you how far down you go with the ribbon. Once you have covered the desired amount of the handle with ribbon, cut the ribbon and tuck the end up into the last layer of ribbon and secure in place with a pin.

I did this and the bouquets were beautiful! Costco's roses have really long beautiful stems and the rose head itself is very large and beautiful as well.
