Things You'll Need:
- 1/2 lb. chicken breast
- 1 onion
- 1 green pepper
- 4 white mushrooms
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 4 cups steamed rice
-
Step 1
Dice the chicken, green pepper, mushrooms and onion. Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and sauté the chicken alone. Then add the onion, mushrooms, green pepper and sauté them together with the chicken.
-
Step 2
Add the steamed rice to the frying pan and mix well. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Step 3
Turn off the heat. Add the 4 tablespoons of ketchup and mix everything together. You'll need extra ketchup when finished, but that can come straight from the bottle.
-
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a second frying pan. Wisk 1 egg in a bowl and pour it into the frying pan. Spread it out to make a large, thin, round omelet.
-
Step 5
Put the chicken and rice mix in the middle of the omelet and fold the top and bottom sides over, as you would when making a turnover. Cover the frying pan with a serving plate and flip the pan upside down to place the omurice on the plate properly.
-
Step 6
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 three times to make 4 plates of omurice. Put some ketchup on top of each completed omelet. Some people put on smiles, others sign their names or initials or draw nonsensical patterns.
