Many people believe toads are a nuisance and would rather not see them around their home. Contrary to that belief, a toad is actually very useful to have in your garden. It helps to consume unwanted insects and pests from your garden. Try inviting a toad to live in your garden and start enjoying the benefits it provides.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a clean environment in your garden. As toads breathe through their skin, a clean and healthy place attracts them more so than a dirty one.

  2. Step 2

Do not use pesticides or any other kind of toxic chemicals around your garden; this can be dangerous to the toad and your family.

  3. Step 3

Provide a house for the toad to be able to get in. You can purchase a toad house through the Internet or some other pet store. Be sure the house is big enough for the toad to get in.

  4. Step 4

Put the toad house in a shady place such as among the bushes or surround it with lots of plants. Fill the bottom of the house with dirt; this provides a hide out for the toad to burrow in as well as to keep cool.

  5. Step 5

Set a large water bowl that has sufficient water for a toad to sit but not swim in.

  6. Step 6

Get some rocks and logs and set them around the garden or bushes by the toad house as this helps to attract the toad to look for a hideout.

  7. Step 7

Keep your garden damp, cool and green. A lawn sprinkler can be helpful to attract a toad as well.
