How to Make Crispy Chinese Chicken Wings

Save

Crispy Chinese Chicken Wings are a crowd pleaser and very easy to prepare. Start them the day before to let them marinate for best flavor. Whether you're preparing them to share at home or bring to a friend's house, these chicken wings come together quickly once they are done marinating. However, they are quite spicy, so warn your friends ahead of time.

Things You'll Need

  • 24 chicken wings
  • 2 cups low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dry powdered mustard (English or Chinese)
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
  • Leafy greens
  • Large bowl
  • Small bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Combine the soy sauce, mustard, ginger, sugar and garlic in a small bowl. Stir well with a wooden spoon and pour into a large bowl that contains the chicken wings. Save the green garnish for after the cooking to use as decoration.

  • Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 24 hours or over night.

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place the wings on a baking sheet. Bake for one hour, turning once halfway through the cooking process.

  • Arrange on a serving plate and garnish with greens.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take a look at my article on Chinese Fried Walnuts. It is easy to do and will add nicely to the dish.
  • Do not microwave: The wings won't get crispy.
