How to Show Love Without Words

Saying "I love you" shows a commitment, a tied emotional feeling about another person, and when it is said to you, it gives you a warmth that can be nearly indescribable. Though these words are special, there are ways to show love without words.

1. Give time. If your man has a hectic life and gets home from work with a lost look in his eyes don't badger him for attention. Giving him a buffer zone and space when he gets home will show love without words and show that you understand his need for decompression time. For the woman in your life, though we are all stressed, and in need of "me time", show your woman that you love her without words by paying attention to her and spending time with her without her asking for it.

2. Take action. Actions speak louder than any words ever will. Instead of telling your girlfriend that you thought about buying her flowers that day, actually buy them. The thought does count, but the action will show love without words.

3. Think small. Adding his favorite snack to the shopping list without his needing to request it is a good way to show you are thinking about him. Slip a note or card in his overnight bag when he takes a business trip with some simple nice words saying you will miss him. If your woman doesn't eat meat, take the time to use two separate pans to make dinner so that your chicken doesn't get all over her vegetables. The small and simple actions mean a lot.

4. Avoid nagging. Everyone has a chore or two that they hate. If your man is good about vacuuming and doing the dishes, then take out the trash without nagging him for days to do it for you. When you take your car to get it cleaned, take your girl's car, too. If she hates to deal with that task, then your taking care of it for her will mean a great deal.

5. Pay attention to details. Notice her favorite magazine and pick one up for her. Check out what kind of beef jerky he likes and get some on your next trip to that store. Flowers will say a great deal, but getting her favorite flowers will show love without words.
