Maybe you or someone you know have a favorite t-shirt that just isn't cutting it in the wardrobe department anymore. It's hard to throw away something so treasured, but now you don't have to part with it. Make it into a pillow to use for those weekend naps or just to have as a keepsake. This is also great for those fun t-shirts that kids have outgrow so quickly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • T-shirt
  • Pillow form (optional)
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Sewing needle
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Flip the t-shirt inside-out.

  2. Step 2

Sew the neck hole and arm holes closed, sewing the fronts to the backs. If you're using stuffing rather than a pillow form, sew along the bottom of the t-shirt to close the front and back together leaving an opening about 4 inches wide.

  3. Step 3

    Turn the shirt right-side out.

  4. Step 4

Stuff polyester stuffing into the arm holes and lightly fill the neck and shoulder area.

  5. Step 5

Continue stuffing the shirt with polyester stuffing or use a pillow form to fill out the rest of the t-shirt.

  6. Step 6

Use the needle and thread to stitch the bottom of the t-shirt pillow closed.

Tips & Warnings
  • T-shirt pillows make whimsical gifts for sports fans.
  • You can also make a square-shaped pillow from your old t-shirt. Just cut out squares from the front and back of the t-shirt. Place the squares right-sides together and stitch three sides closed. Turn it right-side out, stuff it and sew the fourth side closed with needle and thread.
