There is nothing more mouth watering than a roast beef just out of the oven. How you carve the roast beef can enhance the flavor. Here are a few tips on how to carve your roast beef to perfection.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Rest the roast beef for 10 to 15 minutes after removing it from the oven. Letting the roast rest allows the natural juices of the roast beef to settle and make the meat more tender.
Step2
Sharpen your carving knife. Give your knife a few quick swipes on the knife sharpener to make sure the blade is at optimal quality.
Step3
Stick your roast with a meat fork for stability.
Step4
Carve or cut the roast across the grain at a consistent angle for each slice. Carving across the grain will help the juices remain in the roast, resulting in a more tender cut.

Tips & Warnings

  • Slice vertically from the top down to the long bones (if bone in) to form even slices.
  • The fat side of the roast should face up. This means the long bones will rest on the cutting board.
