Step 1
Register at a store or two. Find stores that have a wide variety of items at various prices. Choosing a chain store like Target or Babies 'R' Us ensures that everyone can find something affordable from your list to purchase.
-
Step 2
Start the process online. Most chain stores let you begin the registration process online. Fill out information such as your due date, the state in which you live, and yours and the grandparent's names. You can also begin to fill your registry with items that can be found in their online store.
-
Step 3
Make a trip to the store to fill in holes in your registry. Many items are only found in the store, so take a trip to the store to find things you don't yet have in your registry. They will give you a scanner and allow you to walk around the store, scanning items that interest you. At the end of your session, you can print out your registry to give to others.
-
Step 4
Tell your friends. Now that your registry is complete, the only thing left to do is spread the word to friends and family members.

on 10/21/2008 There's a site that allows you to register and shop for baby stuff across many stores. They have all the main stores you'd expect (Babies R Us, Amazon, Target, etc.) and a bunch of good ones that you might not have heard of (like Giggle). It is called www.nestingmode.com.
