How to Fold a Towel
Although it may seem like there are many different ways to fold a towel, there are in fact two different ways to fold a towel. There is the Martha Stewart method and the military method. Both methods are extremely common and can be seen just about anywhere. The Martha Stewart method is a way of folding towels without seeing any edges. It also allows for monogrammed towels to be hung with the monogram centered. Read on to learn more.

Martha Steward Method

Fold the towel in thirds lengthwise. Now you can hang your towel over a towel rod. Any visible monogram should be centered.

Flip the bottom edge of the towel up to the top edge while you keep the folds as precise as possible.

Turn the bottom edge of the towel up to the top again and you are done.

Stack towels neatly in closet.
Military Method

Bring the short sides of the towel together while you fold the towel widthwise.

Repeat the previous fold by bringing the short ends together. This time, make sure the ends of the towel are facing up (not the folded edge).

Pull the left and right sides toward the center to fold the towel in thirds.

Flip the folded towel over and it is ready to stack neatly in the closet.

If giving towels as a gift, wrap a stack of neatly folded towels with ribbon or twill tape.
To add a fancy touch to your guest towels, bundle them with twill tape and leave in the guest bedroom.
