You can use fruit to create festive, colorful centerpieces for the tables at your wedding reception. The fruit centerpieces will not only be beautiful, but edible too. Follow these steps to construct these attractive centerpieces.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fruits
  • Bowls or other containers
  • Greenery

Step1
Decide what types of fruits will go with the color scheme of your wedding. Citrus fruits go well with colors in the yellow, green and orange families, while apples, grapes and pomegranates go with reds, purples and pinks.
Step2
Purchase bowls or containers to hold the fruit. The containers for each centerpiece do not have to be exactly the same, but they should be relatively the same height. If you are planning your wedding on a budget, purchase the bowls from discount stores and craft shops.
Step3
Buy the fruit the day before your wedding. You do not want the fruit to spoil before you make the centerpieces. Purchase big pieces of fruit with no noticeable marks or bruises.
Step4
Fill each container with fruit, mixing the colors to create a nice look. Fill in extra space in the container with greenery or tissue paper.
Step5
Place one container of fruit on the center of each table. If the fruit hasn't been eaten by the end of your reception, allow guests to take home the centerpieces, including the fruit and bowl.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a dramatic effect, mix vibrant red and green apples.
  • For a casual wedding or an autumn theme, use an upside down straw hat instead of a bowl to hold the fruit.
