How to Draw Chibi
Chibi is the name used for a certain type of stylized drawing used for anime. Often depicted as cute, cuddly and child-like, anything can be depicted in this style. It is easy to translate any person or character into chibi, simply following the steps below. Remember to begin with pencil and have an eraser handy for mistakes.

1
Begin by drawing the shape of the face and head. Because chibi are childlike, the faces need to be very round. The cheeks are often chubby. There sometimes is a small hint of an angle in the chin.
-
2
Next draw the eyes. The eyes need to be placed in the center of the head and face. They are the most prominent feature for chibi, and are very large and round. Once the shape of the eyes are in, add the pupils and iris. They are the same shape as the eyes but a bit smaller.

3
Decide whether the face will have a nose or not. Some chibi do not have noses, while some do. If there is a nose, it is depicted only as a small angled dot under the eyes.
-
4
Finish the head by adding the mouth and hair. The mouth is round and very simple, only two lines. The hair is simplified, and depicted with only a few strands.

5
Finally, draw the body. Chibi bodies are very small compared to the head. The bodies are a bit chubby and child-like. The arms are proportionally short, and the hands and fingers are round and chubby. The neck is very short, or may not exist at all.

6
Finish by blackening the lines and coloring in. Markers or colored pencils will work the best.
