1. Use a bookshelf between two rooms to create a room divider. Place the bookshelf behind a sofa to separate a living room from a dining room. The bookshelf can also be used to add a stylistic element by displaying interesting collections.

2. Use a standing tri-fold photo screen to divide two spaces. Try using two or three if you need to divide a larger room.

3. Hang a curtain from the ceiling between two rooms. Depending on the amount of privacy you desire, you can use a heavy fabric or sheer curtains. This design gives you the freedom to pull back the curtain when you do not want the rooms divided.

4. Place an arrangement of potted plants between the two spaces. This will add life to both rooms while giving a degree of separation.

5. Attach hinges to two or three old doors to create a unique bi-fold or tri-fold room divider. This is a fairly easy project that will add great interest to your room.
