How to Replace the Bulb in a Projection TV
Most projection TVs will give you a warning message when it is time to replace the bulb. Although the bulbs for LCD and projection TVs can be expensive, it is relatively easy to replace the bulb in a projection TV.

Turn off the TV, and unplug it. Make sure to disconnect it from the outlet completely.

Locate the bulb door of the TV. This is often on the back, near the power cord. Slide the door open and reveal the bulb.

Unscrew the screws. Some screws are thumbscrews, while others may require a screwdriver.

Gently remove the bulb. Pull the bulb out of the compartment, usually by grasping a handle and then pulling out and slightly down.

Install the new bulb. Line up the groove on top of the new bulb's housing with the groove pocket on the inside of the television. Slide the new one into place.

Tighten the screws. Do not overtighten them; they should be finger-tight only.

Close the door. Make sure it is closed completely or the TV will not operate.

For specific instructions, refer to the TV's instruction manual.
Bulbs usually have 100 hours of life left when the error message appears.
Never touch the glass parts of a bulb. Oil from your fingers will reduce the life.
Let the bulb cool down before removing it.

There will usually be a dust buildup in the bulb housing. Use a vacuum cleaner with small attachment to clean the housing and the cooling fan blades. This will prevent the new bulb from running too hot. -
