on 1/28/2009 If you do use a chemical cleaner on the inside of your microwave (I have to on occasion since mine's a convection/microwave), make sure to rinse it with clear water at least once. Nothing like having steam condense on the top of the inside of the oven and drip back onto the food with all of the chemicals with it (though rare, it can happen). The vinegar or lemon juice and water combination is far safer.

on 1/27/2009 You can also soak a kitchen sponge with water/lemon juice/vinegar (the vinegar WILL stink up your kitchen) and microwave the sponge for a number of minutes, then let it cool & wipe down any residue with the sponge.

on 1/26/2009 I also vote for a cup of water, nuked for a couple of minutes and let it steam with the door closed for a couple of minutes and then just wipe it out with your dish cloth. No chemicals, no wasted paper towels and it's easy and it works great.
