Things You'll Need:
- Clean towels
- Rubber gloves
- Water
- Papertowels
- Ammonia
- Sponges
-
Step 1
Remove the vomit from the interior of the vehicle. Put on some rubber gloves if you have them, and use papertowels to pick up as much of the vomit as you can. Next, mix 1/4 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of warm water in a bowl or bucket. Take a washcloth or sponge and dip it into the ammonia and water mixture. Squeeze out the excess water and scrub the stained area with the sponge. Clean the entire stained area.
-
Step 2
After cleaning you will need to rinse the stained area. Take a clean sponge soaked in warm water and dab the stained area with the sponge. Go over the whole area with the sponge. Now take a clean white towel and dab the area to lift up some of the water. Once you have dabbed the whole area with the clean towel, the stain should be removed. If not, repeat step number one and let the cleaning solution soak into the stain for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then repeat step number two.
-
Step 3
Let the vehicle interior air dry or use fans to speed up the drying process.

on 11/29/2008 Help I am having a horrible time getting rid of the vomit smell in my car. My 3 year old got sick last night all over the fabric seats of the car. I tried cleaning it immediately with carpet cleaner ... that didn't work. Then, I tired ammonia and water and that didn't work. I just sprinkled arm and hammer pet carpet deodorizer because I read that baking soda may help and to use a cat oder illiminator may work. I really put a lot of effort into this. I even left 2 open boxes of baking powder over night in my car. Any other suggestions????? Please help!

on 11/16/2008 This has happened to me several times. My son gets car sick. Now we just keep an old plastic coffee can in the car. But, he always manages to miss somehow so this will come in handy! Thanks for the advice!
