Things You'll Need:

  • Mild detergent or oil soap
  • Vacuum
  • Colored tapes
  • Plain water
  • Old sheets or rugs
  • Washcloths
  1. Step 1

    Unplug all the electronic devices.

  2. Step 2

Put colorful tapes on the wires and cords to identify them. Use a single colored tape for one set of equipment.

  3. Step 3

Carefully remove the equipment one at a time and set them outside the entertainment center on a used rug or old sheets.

  4. Step 4

Dust the dirt off your gadgets with a dry, clean cloth. You may also use the brush or nozzle attachment on a handheld or regular vacuum cleaner.

  5. Step 5

Use a damp cloth, soaked in a solution made of 1 part mild detergent and 3 parts plain water to gently wipe the exterior of the electronic equipment and disc covers. Do not clean the disc with this solution. Use it only to clean the covers.

  6. Step 6

Vacuum the inside of the entertainment center, paying special attention to the corners.

  8. Step 8

Remove the cobwebs from the corners.

  9. Step 9

Move the entertainment center, if it is not affixed. Dust the wall that is covered by it with a duster.

  10. Step 10

Clean the rear of the entertainment center in the same way as you did the interior.

  11. Step 11

Clean the shelves. Put paper liners on the shelves.

  12. Step 12

Clean the underside of the entertainment center. Use an extendable brush to reach this area.

  13. Step 13

Dust the dirt off the cords and wires. Wipe the cords carefully with a damp cloth soaked in the detergent and water solution.

  14. Step 14

Use the same solution to wipe the remote controls.

  15. Step 15

Arrange the gadgets back in the entertainment center by attaching proper cords to them.

  16. Step 16

Replace the CDs and DVDs back on the shelves or drawers, wherever they belong.

  17. Step 17

Vacuum the area around the entertainment center to clean the fallen dirt and debris.
