How to Prevent Cloudy Glassware in the Dishwasher

How frustrating to pull your clean dishes out of the dishwasher - only to find a thick film of residue has coated your glassware. Fortunately there's an easy solution.

    Things You'll Need

    • Plastic Tubs
    • Scrub Brushes
    • White Vinegar
    • Large Pots
    • Plastic Scrubbers

        Set your cloudy glassware in a large pot or tub.

        Fill the pot or tub with one part vinegar and one part warm water.

        Soak the glassware for at least an hour - you may want to let it soak overnight if the problem is a tough one.

        Scrub any remaining film with a plastic scrubber or brush.

        Wash the glasses by hand.

    Tips & Warnings

    • For best results, always hand-wash your finest glassware.

    • The cloudiness you see on your glassware may not simply be filmy build-up - you may have etching, which is caused by too much detergent. Once glassware is etched, you can't do anything about it.

      Hi I have problem with my Dishwasher...When I put detergent cake for wash..& when wash completed I seen the cake dropped down without dissolve..The same thing happen if I use Deterget..There is enough watercomes in the machin becuase when machine runs I can hear sound of water flowing..Can anybody help me what problem could be?

      I've heard that lemon scented dishwashing detergents made for the dishwasher can etch the glass as well.
