Instructions

    • 1

Refer to the owner's manual that came with your machine for special care instructions.

    • 2

Clean and oil your serger after every 10 to 12 hours of use.

    • 3

Disconnect the serger plug before you clean your machine or perform any maintenance on it.

    • 4

Open the front of the serger and use a lint brush to remove any lint or dust.

    • 5

Remove the serger needle, presser foot and needle plate to remove lint from underneath the needle. You may need a small screwdriver to remove the needle plate.

    • 6

Use sewing machine oil on your serger if recommended by the manufacturer. Apply a few drops to those areas indicated in your owner's manual. The parts that need oil will usually be located around the lower and upper loopers.

    • 7

Dust the casing of your serger with a lint-free cloth; and if needed, remove stubborn dirt from the casing with a damp cloth and a small amount of liquid soap.

    • 8

Have your serger professionally maintained every three to four months. If you use your serger more than 10 or 12 hours a week, take your machine in for maintenance more frequently.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a can of compressed air as an alternative to a lint brush. Simply spray it in any area where lint or dust has accumulated.
