Picking out a creative, meaningful gift is only half the task. Presenting your Valentine's Day present is another bouquet of roses. Here are a few guidelines for a smooth presentation.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Greeting Cards
  • Flowers
  • Champagne
  • Boxes Of Chocolates
  • Ball Game Tickets
  • Massage Gift Certificates
  1. Step 1

Determine what your boyfriend's gift-related expectations are for Valentine's Day. If he loves the hype surrounding the day dedicated to love, think about an elaborate presentation - perhaps design a treasure map or riddle that will lead him to his gift. If he considers the day just another display of rampant consumerism, present your gift (preferably handmade) in a low-key way.

  2. Step 2

Choose a gift that won't make him panic when he sees it, meaning one box that has an unassuming, nonaggressive size. If he sees eight regally wrapped boxes stacked one upon the other, he'll surely become insecure about his one modest gift to you.

  3. Step 3

Consider asking what he'd like for Valentine's Day to give him a hint that you're planning on giving him something, especially if you're new to the relationship and aren't exactly sure how the two of you might celebrate the day.

  4. Step 4

Plan an unconventional present, say, a singing valentine sent to his workplace or a surprise lunch at that restaurant he's been dying to try.

  5. Step 5

Invite your boyfriend over for Champagne before you celebrate the evening. Give your present after you toast your love.

on 10/1/2007 This year for my love, I am making a set of three picture frames that will hang vertically connected by black ribbons. Each frame will be collaged with pictures and phrases that describe our relationship. I bought 3 paper mache picture frames, a spool of black ribbon, several pages of scrapbook stickers and scrapbook pages (to be used as a background for the pictures and phrases) at Hobby Lobby. After I glue the pictures to the frames, I paint several layers of glossy mod podge on, let them dry and connect them together with the ribbon. In the top and bottom frame I am putting my favorite pictures of us and in the center frame, I am framing my favorite quote about love.

on 2/16/2006 A sweet and romantic idea is giving your boyfriend a message in a bottle. First, take an old wine bottle with a cork or screw-on top. Usually you can find them at a grocery store, many have flavored sparkling grape juice if you like that as an alternative. Drink it, take off the wrapping, wash out the bottle and fill it 2 inches full of sand, add some seashells and throw in a romantic message about what you're doing later or how much you love them.
