Ink stains on clothing is something most people have to deal with at one point or the other. Ink can be pretty tough to get out, but most ballpoint pen ink stains come out with lots of persistence and patience. Test on similar scraps of fabric before proceeding.

on 2/3/2008 I would like to know if any of the suggestions for removing ink stains was done on clothes that have been dried and rewashed and dried again...I know about the hair spray trick and if you get it on fresh ink it works most of the time but I've never had any luck on set in ink. These are all pink item and I really would like to save them if possible...does the dishwasher soap really work and can it be put in a front loader?

on 9/12/2007 Thanks to all helpful suggesters. THE ALCOHOL WORKED FOR ME AND QUITE EASILY: I didn't have to rub especially hard with paper towel soaked in alcohol, though I did have to be a bit persistent, repeating the process a few times, but it was REALLY EASY. I would add only that, after the removal it was necessary to rub the entire area with water to remove a sort of ring from the fabric, but that was quite easy too. Thanks again.

on 7/8/2007 I have a fabric sofa and my son has spilled coke all over the back of the sofa. How do I get the coke stains out without damaging the texture of the couch?

on 12/27/2007 I used the cascade trick on my foot stool. It really was like magic!

on 6/20/2007 What about on fabrics such as my foot stool? obviously, I can not treat the back side of the stain. My daughter wrote all over it with a pen. If I apply the hairspray directly on the stain what will happen?
Also what if you did not discover a stain until after it has been dried in the dryer? Will this still work?
