How to Determine Your Hat Size

Before you purchase the perfect hat to complete your wardrobe, take careful measurement of your head to ensure that the fit is just right.

Things You'll Need:

• Baseball Caps/hats
• Calculators
• Measuring Tapes
• Calculators

1. Place a flexible tape measure around the circumference of your head, 1 inch above your eyebrows and around the widest part of your head.

2. Measure the circumference at least twice to be sure that you are getting an accurate measurement.

3. Record the measurement in inches and/or centimeters.

4. Use a hat-sizing conversion chart to determine your exact size. These are available at hat stores, or at www.qualityhats.com/stetson1.htm.

5. Ask the hat salesperson to confirm that your head measurement and estimated hat size are correct.

Tips & Warnings

• If a hat-sizing conversion chart is unavailable, divide your measurement (in inches) by 3.14. This should give you the basic hat size.
• Some hats and baseball caps are made with Velcro or plastic adjustable straps in the back. These features allow you to purchase a hat that falls within a wide range of your actual head size.
