How to Remove Stains From Pebble Sheen

Mary Ylisela

Pebble Sheen is a type of pool finish made by Pebble Tec. The smooth, granite-like surface adds to the appearance of your swimming pool while also being durable and easy to maintain. The shiny Pebble Sheen surface is composed of small pebbles fused together.

The right finish for your pool interior increases its eye-appeal.

Similar to other pool surfaces, algae, dirt and other stains can form on the pool interior despite the use of pool-cleaning chemicals. You can remove stains from your pool's Pebble Sheen finish and should do so to keep the pool clean and sanitary.

Tip

Clean your pool interior at the beginning and end of each pool season. Use the appropriate additives to keep your pool clean and sanitary throughout the swimming season.

  1. Drain your pool according to manufacturer's instructions. Allow the Pebble Sheen surface to dry completely to kill stain-causing mold or mildew spores present.

  2. Pour 1/2 gallon of warm water into a bucket. Add 1/2 gallon of white vinegar.

  3. Vinegar is a natural mold killer and effectively removes mineral deposits.
  4. Soak a sponge in the vinegar solution. Wipe down the Pebble Sheen surface to remove stains left by mold or mineral deposits.

  5. Dip an old toothbrush in the diluted vinegar. Sprinkle baking soda over the bristles.

  6. Scrub stains that are difficult to remove with the safe abrasive. Rinse the toothbrush as needed. Continue to scrub with the toothbrush and sponge to remove all the stains.

  7. Rinse the Pebble Sheen surface by wiping it with a damp cloth. Dry the surface with clean cloths before allowing it to air-dry the remainder of the way.
