Create impressive wedding table decorations with elegant napkin folds.

Use paper napkins as a cost-effective table decoration at your wedding. Transform the paper napkin into a work of art. Impress guests at your wedding reception by creating a variety of innovative paper napkin folds such as the goblet fan and diamond fold. Select paper napkins in the size and finish that resemble a cloth napkin. Once your artistic paper napkin fold is ready, you can set it on a plate, within a crystal glass or in a traditional napkin ring.

Instructions

  1. Goblet Fan

    • 1

Open the napkin fully and set it face down on the table. Fold it into half with the open end of the napkin facing you. Crease the center of the napkin by folding into quarters. Open the quarter fold.

    • 2

Create evenly sized accordion pleats from the left of the napkin to the right. Ensure that the crease in the center folds into an accordion fold. This will ensure that the folds of the accordion pleats are evenly sized.

    • 3

Hold the napkin vertically and fold it up, one inch from the base. Set the folded base in a goblet or crystal glass. Spread out the accordion pleats to form a fan.

    Diamond Fold

    • 4

Set the open napkin face down on a flat surface. Fold it into half and then into quarters with the open end facing you.

    • 5

Pull up the top-most layer of the napkin diagonally and fold it outwards into half and towards the left. Do the same with the remaining layers of the napkin to create a uniform, layered effect.

    • 6

Hold both the ends of the napkin with your hands. Create a two-inch fold at either end of the napkin. Place the folds under the diagonal layered folds, so that the napkin resembles an elegant paper diamond. Press the diamond fold napkin firmly in place to flatten it, and set it on an empty plate.
