How to Arrange Your Bed in Front of Windows
Enjoy a view of a star-filled sky from your bed by positioning your bed in front of your window. Whether you have limited space in your room and the window is the only place the bed will fit, or you simply want to revamp the space, with a little creativity you can make an eye-catching focal point in your bedroom. 1
Position the head of the bed under the window. Center the bed directly under the window, making it a headboard of sorts for the window.
-
2
Leave enough space between the bed and the window to allow access to the window so that it can be easily opened.
-
-
3
Top the bed with a short headboard. If you intend on featuring a headboard on your bed, use a short one to avoid obstructing the view from the window.
-
4
Use the window as a decorative accessory for the bed. Hang curtains that coordinate with the linens on the bed. For example, you could hang curtains that exactly match the bed linens, making a seamless visual transition from the windows to the bed and creating a cohesive look. Alternatively, you could use curtains that contrast with the linens, yet still coordinate with them. Toile curtains with gingham bedding or aqua blue sheers with a velvet teal bead spread, make the bed and window their own feature, yet tie them together at the same time.
