How to Crochet a Tablecloth With Grapes Done in Popcorn Stitching
One of the most amazing things about crocheting is the ability to create intricate shapes and patterns out of nothing but yarn and a hook. One such stitch, the Popcorn, allows you to create raised baubles that cluster together. These baubles can look like grapes when clustered properly. Crocheting a tablecloth with popcorn-stitched grapes can be done by creating several granny squares--or small self-contained patterned squares--which are then stitched together to create a final product.

Make a slip knot, then chain stitch five stitches.

Begin to popcorn stitch on the stitch closest to the hook, but doing five double crochet stitches in this stitch. Drop the stitch, then pick up the first double crochet stitch by sliding your hook through it from front to back. Pick up the loop you just dropped, then pull it through the other stitch. This will create your first bauble or "grape."

Insert the hook into the first chain stitch and create a circle by connecting the last stitch of the grape with a slip stitch. This is the beginning center of your granny square.
