How to Knit a Headband With Flowers
Knitted headbands with flowers are a fun and fashionable look for children and adults. By making your own knitted headband, you can add your own unique style to your look. Things You'll Need
- US size 9 knitting needles
- Yarn
- Yarn needle
- Silk flower
- Button or other decorative item
- Hot glue

Measure around your head where you will wear the headband.

Subtract one inch from the measurement above to determine the length of your headband.

Cast on seven stitches onto US size 9 needles.

Knit one, purl one across the row.

Repeat Step 4 until the headband is the length determined in Step 2.

Bind off, leaving a 8-inch yarn tail.

Align the two ends of your headband and sew them together using a yarn needle and the yarn tail.

Sew the center of a silk flower to the headband using yarn or thread.

Glue a button or other decorative item to the center of the flower using hot glue to hide the stitches.

Tips & Warnings
You can make the headband wider or narrower by changing the number of cast on stitches to any odd number desired.
To get multiple looks out of the same headband, you can use flower clips rather than sewing the flower to the headband. This way you can have multiple flower colors and styles without making multiple headbands.
